Commissioner for Oaths

Official Oath Administration & Affidavit Services in Edmonton

A Commissioner for Oaths is an individual authorized to administer legal oaths and witness the signing of affidavits, affirmations, and statutory declarations. Our Commissioner for Oaths services are available at both Edmonton locations for individuals who need official document authentication.

Whether you need a sworn affidavit for court proceedings, a statutory declaration for immigration purposes, or any other notarized sworn statement, our trained commissioner will ensure your documents are executed correctly and stamped with our official seal.

What We Can Commission

  • Affidavits โ€” Sworn written statements for legal or court use
  • Statutory Declarations โ€” Formal declarations for government, immigration, or legal purposes
  • Affirmations โ€” Non-religious alternative to an oath
  • Solemn Declarations โ€” For name changes, immigration status, or property matters

How the Process Works

  1. Bring your document(s) โ€” Prepared and ready for signing (do not sign beforehand)
  2. Present valid ID โ€” Government-issued photo identification required
  3. Sign in front of the commissioner โ€” You must sign the document in person before the commissioner
  4. Commissioner signs & stamps โ€” Official commissioner stamp applied to complete the process
Important: Do NOT sign your document before arriving. Affidavits and declarations must be signed in the presence of the Commissioner โ€” a pre-signed document cannot be commissioned.
